Shared note

Marvin Albert Umberson says George W. U. was a Watkins Salesman from wagon, and his father Jerome2 "George" may have died from fall on axe in wagon/crash (Joyce Bearden confirms).

JGU#2 was deceased by time GW Umberson was 10 yrs old.

Per Kellum records from L.McDugal..Kellums say JGU1 may be in unmarked grave in old Denton Cemetary. Good size town of 80,000 drove through but didn-t stop & ask dir. 35E, go No. to Denton, TX. Do R&D. Note Denton Cemetary is Off 35E/Loop, Denton, TX, 35E n. of Dallas. -BWU 1998

JGU1 Not in Jacksboro (Oaklawn..on Post Oak St.) or Gholson. -BWU 1998

The orphan ref. is from L. McDugal (Gholson Historian) bio. on Kellums. Per MAU1, "may or may not be Marvin Sr. Grandfather, but that is what Joe E. Umberson thinks; Marvin Sr. is unsure because JGU2 died when GWU was only 10 years old--their was little history or stories passed on about this."

In BWU files, Bible paper copy items from ?: Doesn't seem right...their was already a George W. doubtful George G is from Jerome G...1810 or 1855 from various ref. .perhaps a JG Jr. & Sr. ? Note O. Savanas entry with 1st spouse JG shows only GG... BWU 1998 discussed with Mary Ann Brame is also unsure as to who Jerome Umberson father or mother is.

Marvin Umberson then Harold Umberson has photo passed on from Lois Umberson (Modesto, CA) that is beleived to be Marvins Great-Grandfather (Jerome1 b.~1810). This is the ONLY picture knoiwn to BWU of reportedly, by MAU and Lois--of JGU1.

JGU2 Buried Location 80: Index to Early McLennan Co., TX Deaths, John M. Usry, Central TX Genl. Soc. aka in Oaklawn Cem, Waco, TX. pictures are in the SCRainwater web and book on Clois Rainwater and affiliated families.
